Why I Am Publishing Rulebook Openly

Why I Am Publishing Rulebook Openly

21. Jan. 2026 - HalliNotes from the Process

Publishing a rule system is a decision

Today I’m publishing The Consequence Framework, together tomorrow with its manifesto.
Not as a launch.
Not as a product announcement.
But as a conscious decision.

The Consequence Framework is not a combat system.
It is not a balancing tool.
It is a rule system designed to make human behavior under pressure visible, playable, and accountable.

And that is exactly why it belongs in the open.

Why openness is not a risk

Many people think openness means losing control.
I believe the opposite.

A system that focuses on consequences instead of optimization,
that does not chase numbers,
that does not hide responsibility
but makes it visible—
does not lose anything by being open.

It gains clarity.

Openness forces clear language.
A clear stance.
Honest rules.

The Consequence Framework is not a possession. It is an offer.

The rule system may be read, shared, discussed, and extended.
Non-commercially.
With attribution.
Under the same conditions.

Not because I want to give up control—
but because trust is part of the system itself.

The Consequence Framework does not tell you what is right.
It invites you to live with your decisions.

And what about Editions?

Editions are projects that grows from this rule system.
A world.
A game.
A space for experience.

Those contents remain protected.

The rule system is the physics.
The world is my story.

Clearly separated.
Fully transparent.

A personal note

I don’t believe in systems that manipulate people.
I believe in systems that take people seriously.

If The Consequence Framework sparks conversations—
if it brings people together—
if it leads to new ideas—

then it already fulfills its purpose.

Everything else is resonance.

All the best to you,
Sven „Halli“ Fleshman
